Review Guidelines

Reviewers are requested to evaluate submitted manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially. The review process aims to ensure that all published articles meet the standards of academic quality, originality, clarity, and scholarly contribution expected by Jurnal Ilmiah Kajian Ilmu Sosial dan Budaya.

Review Criteria

  1. Relevance to Journal Scope
    Evaluate whether the manuscript is relevant to the fields of social sciences, cultural studies, community development, social change, sociology, anthropology, or related disciplines covered by the journal.
  2. Originality and Contribution
    Assess the novelty, originality, and academic contribution of the manuscript. Determine whether the study provides new insights, perspectives, or findings relevant to the field.
  3. Title and Abstract
    Examine whether the title accurately reflects the content of the manuscript and whether the abstract clearly presents the background, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions of the study.
  4. Introduction and Literature Review
    Assess the clarity of the research background, problem statement, objectives, research gap, and theoretical foundation. Review whether relevant and recent literature has been adequately cited.
  5. Research Methodology
    Evaluate the appropriateness and rigor of the research design, data collection procedures, sampling techniques, research instruments, and data analysis methods.
  6. Results and Discussion
    Assess whether the findings are clearly presented, logically interpreted, and adequately discussed in relation to existing theories and previous studies.
  7. Conclusion
    Evaluate whether the conclusions are supported by the findings and whether the study's implications, recommendations, or future research directions are clearly presented.
  8. References
    Review the quality, relevance, and recency of references. References should follow APA 7th Edition and include a substantial proportion of recent scholarly sources.
  9. Language and Presentation
    Assess the clarity, coherence, organization, grammar, and readability of the manuscript.
  10. Publication Ethics
    Identify any indication of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, unethical research practices, or conflicts of interest.
