Peer Review Proccess
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Ilmiah Kajian Ilmu Sosial dan Budaya undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and scientific contribution of the published articles.
The journal applies a Double-Blind Peer Review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.
Review Process
- Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team evaluates the manuscript to determine its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, and overall academic quality. - Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal's acceptable threshold may be rejected or returned for revision. - Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. - Reviewers' Recommendations
Reviewers evaluate the originality, methodology, theoretical contribution, clarity of presentation, validity of findings, and relevance of references. Reviewers may recommend:- Accept Submission

- Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief considers the reviewers’ comments and recommendations before making the final editorial decision. - Revision Stage
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ and editors’ comments and resubmit within the specified period. - Final Acceptance and Publication
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and final publication.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Review manuscripts objectively, fairly, and professionally.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript information.
- Provide constructive comments and recommendations.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest.
- Complete reviews within the agreed review period.
- Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit without discrimination based on nationality, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
- Report any suspected ethical issues, plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication.
The average review process typically takes between 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
